Lighted Touch Interface With Deadfronted Glass Overlay

This custom capacitive touchpad was designed for Starleaf LTD, a leader in cloud and video conferencing techniques.

When consumers touch a capacitive touch button they expect a instantaneous response, to ensure the fast response time we set the scan rate to 80 scans per second. Another way to speed up responsive time is for the device to communicate with the main controller via a full duplex UART link. This allows for the data created in a press and release is processed immediately and not wait for a query from the main controller.

We proposed a PCB type capacitive touch interface that uses our custom FORE LIGHT™ technology since it was the best method for Starleaf's project.

Starleaf's major requirements for the touchpad were:

• A fully backlit dial pad
• Dual-color, mute, videor mute keys
• Backlit volume keys, make call and hang up keys, home key for easy navigation
